When should you be securing your 2024/25 student accommodation?

We know what your thinking! You’ve only just moved into your current student place and your seeing adverts for 2024/25 accommodation already and now your feeling confused! We get it, it does seem premature, but were here to put your mind at ease.

If you’re returning to Bangor for the next academic year and feeling worried on when you should be securing next years property, there is no rush. The truth is, there is no right or wrong answer. As a student letting agent, we see trends change year on year, but we always have something available to you whether it be now or in 9 months’ time.

It depends on you, your circumstances and preferences. Some want to get it out of the way early on so you can relax and not worry about it at the end of the year when they would rather be focusing on their exams. Some may be worried that all the “best” properties will go straight away and whilst that may be partially true, we continue to grow our property portfolio, meaning that a property you love may go live, months after you’ve secured one. We also see some cases when students rush into it and realise not long after that they don’t want to live with the people that have chosen to.  Others prefer to wait until the end of the current academic year for many reasons, its not a priority (which is absolutely fine), they don’t know what they want, or they simply don’t know what their situation will be next year.

Signing and securing a property is a HUGE deal, so we advise taking it at your own pace and doing so when you feel ready and confident.
